PROPOSED PROJECT
Shelf Display Audit
Check store photos against the agreed display. Mark visible gaps, show the photo behind each finding, and request another angle when something is hidden.

Spot the gap.
Show what is unclear.
Display plan H-03 version 02 calls for two MUG-01 mugs in the middle-left position. The example photo shows a visible gap there, while a promotional board obscures the lower-right shelf. The review should separate a possible placement issue from an area that cannot be assessed.
WHAT IS USUALLY DONE
Vision tools can identify visible objects and draw boxes around them. That does not establish whether the right fixture reference was used, whether a facing is genuinely absent, or whether a promotional board is hiding it.
WHAT SOVRUN CAN DO FOR YOU
Sovrun would connect photo-quality checks, fixture-version matching, candidate product detection, and merchandising review for one display format. Each finding retains its image region and placement reference. Confirmed deviations produce draft store tasks; obscured areas produce specific recapture requests.
Review a visible gap.
The example display plan calls for MUG-01 here. No mug is visible in the supplied photo. A reviewer checks the display plan before assigning a store task.
Ask for another view.
The display board hides part of this shelf. The system should request a clearer photo and retain an unknown status, rather than report a missing product.

How we’d make it happen.
Test and adjust
Define the fixture revision and photo position, then test candidate models on clear and deliberately difficult views.
Compare
Link visible regions to planned positions; distinguish a candidate gap from an obscured or unassessable area.
Resolve
Let reviewers confirm deviations, request another view, and create a store task with evidence and a close-out photo.
Where AI helps
Compare AI tools that detect objects and read images on representative store photos, including difficult angles and similar packaging. Use explicit unknown states where the image cannot support a finding.
What people approve
Merchandising staff verify the applicable fixture revision and every actionable deviation. Hidden products are never counted as missing stock, and tasks remain drafts until a reviewer confirms the evidence.
What we’d need to start
- Versioned fixture and product-placement reference
- Product photos and the number of items planned for each shelf position
- Representative store photos, capture rules, and task owners
How we’d test it
Evaluate false flags, missed visible gaps, correct unknown states, and recapture usefulness against merchandising-reviewed photos. Decide on broader rollout only after that fixture pilot.
