PROPOSED PROJECT
Grant Report Builder
Help nonprofit teams prepare funder updates from approved budgets, activity records, and evidence of results. Match documents to reporting requirements, calculate differences from the budget, and draft a report that links to its sources and flags missing information.
Report what happened. Show what is still missing.

30,000 − 26,800
The project in practice.
A fictional program budget is 30,000 across staff 12,000, materials 8,000, and events 10,000. Recorded spending is 11,800, 7,200, and 7,800: 26,800 total, or 3,200 below budget. Six of eight planned sessions ran. Attendance records show 140 visits by 95 distinct participant IDs. The planned outcome questionnaire is missing, so the report cannot state a measured skills improvement.
WHAT IS USUALLY DONE
Program teams assemble funder reports from separate budget sheets, attendance logs, and activity notes. A polished narrative can hide missing evaluations or confuse repeat attendance with unique participants.
WHAT SOVRUN CAN DO FOR YOU
Sovrun would build a reporting workspace around one funder template. It matches each requested figure to an approved source, calculates budget differences, and drafts commentary that stays within the available evidence. Missing outcome information remains an open item for the program lead.
Visits show participation.
Outcomes need their own evidence.
The attendance register records 140 visits by 95 distinct participant IDs. Repeat attendance explains why these totals differ. The planned outcome questionnaire is missing, so the report cannot claim measured skills improvement.

Evaluation Q01 / not supplied
During the period, the program delivered six of eight planned sessions and recorded 140 attendance visits by 95 distinct participants. Recorded spending was 26,800 against a 30,000 budget. Outcome evaluation is pending because questionnaire Q01 has not been supplied.
A funder update
that can be checked.
The project assembles the budget, activity record, and evidence gaps into a reviewable report. Program and finance leads approve the final version.

How we’d make it happen.
Map the reporting requirements
Link each requested field to an approved record and define its reporting period.
Calculate and draft
Reconcile costs and activity counts, then draft commentary only from supported figures.
Review and submit separately
Program and finance leads resolve gaps and approve the report before any external submission.
Where AI helps
Document models extract proposed reporting fields and language models draft source-linked text. Code calculates totals and differences and checks unique identifiers where supplied. Participation counts do not become claims of program impact.
What people approve
Finance and program leads confirm costs, reporting periods, participant definitions, and the final narrative. They approve what is sent to the funder and resolve absent evidence before making outcome claims.
What we’d need to start
- Approved budget, expense records, and funder template
- Dated activity logs and participant records with defined identifiers
- Outcome evidence and program/finance review owners
How we’d test it
Test duplicate attendance rows, mixed reporting periods, missing outcome measures, and misclassified costs. Independently reconcile totals and ensure drafts distinguish visits, unique participants, and demonstrated outcomes.
Prepared for Public sector & social impact. We would agree on the work after reviewing your brief, materials, and requirements.
This is a proposed project, not completed client work. The visuals and numbers show example outputs, not measured results.
